Meet Geoff
Geoff Baker is a story-teller who writes entertainingly eclectic short(ish) stories. He’s also recently taken to writing comedic poetry, just for kicks.
There’s a vicious rumour that he thinks there’s a novel in him one day too.
To say that Geoff came to writing late is kind of true and yet he’s always loved the art of writing and nurtured the long-cherished dream of becoming a published author for over thirty-five years.
Instead, for many of those years, Geoff sailed the good ship sensible, his urge to write engulfed by a career selling market research and advertising campaign insights to major brands, aka ‘the day job’, alongside an all-consuming need to pay the mortgage.
With hindsight, he still managed to find a career where he surrounded himself with story-telling and storytellers every day.
At the age of fifty-something, though, he finally gave up on the ‘real world’ and has been writing full time ever since.
Other life events of total inconsequence, include sitting opposite Lord Sebastian Coe on a train and accidentally almost stepping on a sting-ray whilst posing in the Maldives, which only proves how random and remarkable life’s journey can be.
When Geoff isn’t writing, he lives in Berkshire, in an old converted Victorian police station, with his wife, Angie and their beloved cockapoo, Riley.
Between them, Geoff and Angie share four children and (at the last count) three gorgeous grand-children.
For his sins, of which there are many, he supports the mighty Arsenal.
